France, Handmade by French Nurse, 1940s, Photo Album
Good
Wonderful handmade photographic album of nurses and hospital staff during the Alsace Campaign in World War II. I believe this was the Motorized Evacuation Hospital #411. There is a document authorizing the staff to wear the Rhine and Danube Badge. The Battle of Alsace was a military campaign between the Allies, mainly French, and the Germans in Alsace from 20 November 1944 to 19 March 1945. The album contains over 300 snapshot size photographs. Each image has some sort of white ink caption. Lots of images of the staff, nurses, and soldiers, but also outdoor shots of locations and military equipment. Most pages have a spider web tissue guard to protect the images. There are a few images missing, but mostly complete and very good condition.
