Slim Memorandum Book in limp board covers 5 3/4" by 3 7/8".  30 pages of information of use to miners and prospectors in the region including mining laws and regulations, best practices, hydraulics, weights of rock, help in the case of accidents and poisonings and even simple rules for the game of whist.

Of more interest are the 24 pages of handwritten notes by the owner which start with ....... for Nome Mining Co. from July 27-07 to .... on following ground. All ground being worked by laymen. Followed by what appear to be records of oz (ounces of gold presumably) by week, named men employed with their hours worked and pay, an entry "pay dirt on dump." and other miscellaneous jottings and reminders, e.g. "send pictures and letters", "gold pan", "glue for boots"
