Warren MA, Rachael Hodges, 1844

fine

1836 last will & testament, certified copy 1844, of Rachael Hodges of Warren, Worcester County, Massachusetts. She leaves her three living sons and the children of her two deceased sons just one dollar each (son Adolphus, the postmaster of South Warren, was her executor).  To a daughter Mary Minot she bequeaths half of a piece of land and half of her personal property (“from the conviction I entertain that my said daughter minot has not heretofore received her equal share of her father’s estate, and for her long & faithful & kind attention to me since the decease of my husband and her father.”) Another daughter, Seraph, was married (1825) to Holmes Ammidown, and was to receive just one dollar.
