1894 letter about secondhand Columbia bicycle, Winchendon MA. On lined paper watermarked Bunker Hill S.W. Co. Handstamped letterhead of C. N. Day - Richard Day was one of the founders of Winchendon in the 1750s. George Herbert Day worked for Albert Pope bicycle company - perhaps a relation. When the Columbia bicycle was introduced in 1880, it cost $87.50. In 1894, the old model was still sought after - Mr. Day plans on trading the Columbia that he has just bought.
