The groundbreaking, Middletown: A Study in American Culture, was primarily a look at the changes of a typical American city (Muncie in Indiana), during a period of great economic change- pre1925.
This photo album is a picture portrait of Galesburg, IL in the 1950s, during the post WW2 economic boom. A street by street and house by house picture of the residents individually & as a community in this uniquely American mid-20th century suburban subdivision.
