New York, Frederick A. Praeger, Inc., 1965, Hardcover
First edition, Very good
First American edition. First edition in English. Inscribed by Mies Van der Rohe on half-title. (228pp.) (10"x 10.25"). Very good in vg dust jacket.
Mies Van der Rohe is one of the most influential architects of the 20th century. The master of the modern steel-and-glass skyscraper, he was a founder of modernism, and head of the German school of design known as Bauhaus. His architectural design and innovation has been widely imitated through the decades, and around the world.
The book is elegantly designed, and illustrated with dramatic black-and-white photographs, floor plans, and classic details. There is little text: the photographs and drawings convey the "less is more" message.
Toning to the edges of the cloth covered boards else clean, square, bright & tight. Dust jacket has a few chips, creases and closed tears around the edges, still bright and presents nicely.
