A large print featuring noted Polish-American artist and caricaturist Arthur Szyk’s “Il Duce…” (The Leaders), this page is from a 1942 in Esquire magazine, presented on off-white paper stock, featuring a full-colour caricature of a weary Benito Mussolini being led in chains by a corpulent and decoration-clad Hermann Göring, with Japanese with Japanese Prime Minister Hideki Tojo smiling on from the rear, all supervised by a personification of death direct the trio to oblivion, flanked by Syzk’s facsimile signature situated above a date of “1942”, in turn situated by a small typewritten title with artist attribution. Measures 9 1/2 x 13 inches. A little browning around the edges.
