1944
This is an amazing book of photographs of Paris when it was under Nazi control during WWII. It is dated 1944. Tited "A Paris Sous la Botte des Nazis" or in English, "Paris Under the Boots of the Nazis". It's completely in French but it's mostly pictures. The first photo is of the Nazi's marching in under the Arch de Triumph with French soldiers under arrest. Then lot of photos of Nazis enjoying themselves like they were tourists at Cabaret shows, shopping, going to museums and at restaurants. Also lots of photos of French people under Nazi control trying to go on with their lives, lots of very graphic photos of dead people. Photos end with the Liberation of Paris with an amazing double page photo of people cheering and the Eiffel Tower in the background. Several hundred photos inside. Measures 8 x 11. The cover is hardback and has some light wear around edges and corners. 1 inch of the binding is missing at the bottom but all pages and cover still very firmly attached.
