Tahlequah OK, The Pan Press, 1965
Octavo; 132 pages. Original red cloth with gilt stamping on front cover and spine in publisher's photo-illustrated dust jacket. Damp stain to lower corner of front cover and first few pages else near fine in very good dust jacket (small chip along front join and larger chip at spine head some soiling along spine joints and flap folds; residue from small label upper front corner; short closed tear & crease on upper front edge). Still a nice copy of a surprisingly scarce work on cattle ranching late 1800s - early 1900s.
Biography of William H. Moffat, Nevada cattleman, who started in the late 1800's as a beef buyer and ended in 1963 as one of the most respected cattlemen on the West Coast. Kenneth Scott worked for him for ~ 20 years and thus speaks with authority about those times.
