Self-mailing booklet (6" x 3 1/2"). 23 pp. Photomechanical reproductions of 23 photographs of Monterey, California, including images of the Monterey coast, birds'-eye views, beaches, fishermen, Monterey Hotel interior and exterior views, banana plants, fishermen, a sailing ship, dress parade at the Presidio; with accompanying text; map. Previous owner label; pencil notations of the photographs; two tape strips across lower spine; light wear; else a very good copy of a rare, early tourist promotional booklet with a brief history of Monterey Peninsula and a poem titled "Monterey" by Edwin Emmet Curtis. The text provides descriptions of the photographs. Only 1 copy located (at Columbia University).
