Album with >70 Original Orchids, Floral and Garden Drawings: New York, Lake Tahoe

Here’s a beautiful small album with more than 70 original drawings of orchids, flowers and gardens. The album features Gozzoli’s Journey of the Magi on the front and measures 6 ¼” x 8 ½”. It was presented “From Bill and David” in April 1981 and the artwork is dated between June 1981 and November 1982. The book starts out with simple line drawings of orchids, then proceeds to more detailed drawings of “Scented Lilies”, “Dying Lilies”, “Narcisii”, as well as some more elaborate drawings, including some of Lake Tahoe in winter and a fabulous stylized skyline of New York City. There are about 75 drawings total, most in ink and a few in pencil.

While unsigned, the album comes from a San Diego estate that included the LBGTQ magazines and newspapers I’ve listed, where a psychologist involved in LBGTQ activities lived.  With a dried flower laid in. Cover has wear, two pages have been cut out and a little staining to upper gutter of about first third of book.
