Lot of 3 Roosevelt-related ephemeral items:
First, an interesting broadside from a presentation discussion about the United Nations by Eleanor Roosevelt (Mrs Franklin Delano Roosevelt). She gave a speech and a presentation on KRNT radio, sponsored by the Des Moines Adult Education Council. Undated, but I found a recounting of Roosevelt’s visit in her online papers for Mar 16 1949 here: https://www2.gwu.edu/~erpapers/myday/displaydoc.cfm?_y=1949&_f=md001228 Broadside measures 7 ½” x 11” and has edge chipping, but not affecting text. Blank on rear.
Next, a scarce political broadside published by the Democratic National Campaign Committee in 1936, when FDR faced Alf Landon in the presidential election. The broadside entreats: “Don’t Go Back and Backward with Republicans” and depicts the Republican party as a wolf (“Wall Street”) dressed in sheep’s clothing (“Borrowed Liberal Ideas”). Their campaign must have worked as Roosevelt won by a landslide; Landon garnering just 8 electoral votes. Measures 7 1/2" x 12", on thin stock. Only a few copies found online in libraries. In fair condition only; missing top left corner, small chip top right corner, small edges tears at top and larger ones at bottom, age toning to edges. Text and graphics all still legible.
Finally, original Roosevelt political campaign decal, probably for a window, as it would be from 1932-1944 and pre-dates bumper stickers. Measures 2-1/8" x 9 1/2", slightly non-square so likely has been trimmed.
