Love. Hate. Scarce poetry book with poetry by Chris Hurford, prose by transgender activist Tomek (Tomasz) Kitliński and art by Dariusz Fodczuk, Ex-Libris Publishers, Poland, 1991. "Hate" in title is written backward. Pages count up to 20, then back down to one with additional title page in the back. Small hardcover with dark poetry and dark images. Inscribed Kitlinski in the back.
Good condition with some wear and scuffing to covers and spine as shown. Interior is near fine except for small fold to rear endpaper.
On Kitlinski from an upcoming Marxist/Feminist conference: Tomasz Kitlinski is a queer feminist (transgender) activist, academic and curator, social activist, cultural analyst, prof. at the Academy of the Arts in Szczecin/in German and Yiddish, Stettin. She defended her diploma of Text and Image under Julia Kristeva; tomek.A has also conducted research under Hélène Cixous, Anne-Emmanuelle Berger, Maria Janion, the feminist curator, Lara Perry, and at the Courtauld Institute of Art, University of London. She has authored a scholarly-Gothic novel book Obcy jest w nas. Kochać według Julii Kristevej and co-authored an academic-artivist book Love and Democracy: The Queer Question in Poland (with Pawel Leszkowicz), as well as performative books Love.Hate (with Dariusz Fodczuk) and Parallel Lines (with Angus Reid). tomek.A was accused of “offending the Republic of Poland” by the then governor of Lublin and the current régime’s minister of education and science. https://marxfemconference.com/tomasz-kitlinski/
