(no. 1 serves as frontispiece); index + 24 p. of publisher's advertisements.  A good copy of this, the first book illustrated with stereo photographs, documenting Smyth's astronomical expedition. Smyth took his telescopes to the peaks of Teneriffe to avoid the problematic atmosphere of lower altitudes. The prints in this copy have survived well. Good.
