This is a 42 page booklet that details the founding, the popularity and the importance of the Old Sweet. It is said that the original main building was designed by Thomas Jefferson, certainly in his style. All of Virginia's finest found refuge there during the summer months of heat and disease especially from the Tidewater area. It was well known as a health resort and was developed in the late 18th century.
