274 pp. First edition. Tall octavo.35 illustrations by Frederic Remington of which 3 are in color. Publishers quarter black cloth over printed paper boards. Pictorial paste-down by Remington affixed to cover. Attractive illustrated dust jacket in very good + condition. Affixed to the cover endpaper is a letter by the author. Affixed the the FFEP is a manuscript letter by the illustrator, Frederic Remington, to the publisher, Mr. Harper, regarding a reprint of The Last Stand. Beneath the Remington letter is an original color pencil illustration by the bibliographer Merle Johnson the owner of the book. In original publishers slip-case with Morocco gilt spine label.
