Berleley, Oyez, 1976, Paper wraps
First printing, Very good
45pp. First edition in wrappers. In 1992 Thomas Crowell, Inc, contacted Robert Hawley of Oyez Press, requesting permission to publish William Everson's River-Root, which was published by Oyez, in 1976. Bill completed editing the work around Thanksgiving of 1993. Robert Hawley and John Carpenter agreed to pick-up the corrected copy to forward to Crowell during a pre-Christmas visit to Kingfisher Flat. However, Everson's health declined rapidly requiring round-the-clock care until his passing in June of 1994.
With 7 pages of first galleys with manuscript corrections by Everson.
Everson conceived and wrote early drafts of River-Root in 1956 while a Dominican at an Oakland Priory';
Everson considered River-Root his most prophetic work.
