October 1849 letter with vivid detailed descriptions of life and place
$1,300
Item Details
California Goldrush letter 1849 accompanied by a second 1850 letter. Letters from 1849 are much scarcer than 1850 on. This one is of extra importance because of its detailed observant writing. Good descriptions of travel mining and San Francisco. One example “we have no railroads or stage coaches in this country”
letters are easily readable and on good paper
