SIGNED by James Schuyler and Fairfield Porter on the limitation page of this collection, which features poems by Schuyler and illustrations by Porter (including the cover). This is letter "P" of only 26 lettered copies, signed by both men, from a total edition of 300. 

This volume is a terrific collaboration between two key members of the New York School poetry and art scene, who lived together from 1961 to 1973. In 1981, Schuyler won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry for his 1980 collection, "The Morning of the Poem."

SCARCE signed by author and illustrator. 

PHYSICAL DETAILS: Quarto (11 x 8 1/2 inches; 280 x 215 mm), [30] leaves in stapled wrappers, printed on rectos only (soft cover).

CONDITION: Very light toning near spine, a few indents to wrappers, and rusting of staples. Very Good or better.

Shipping and Returns

All books are offered subject to prior sale. We attempt to describe any defects we see and to note the presence of bookplates and previous owners' signatures. We unconditionally guarantee the authenticity of author signatures and inscriptions.


All items may be returned within 15 days of receipt and must be in the same condition as originally shipped. Please notify us before returning a book.


We accept all major credit cards issued in the U.S. as well as PayPal. (For clients outside the U.S., we strongly prefer PayPal.) We also accept checks drawn on U.S. banks from customers known to us. Shipments to New Jersey addresses will be charged 6.625% sales tax unless the buyer is tax-exempt.


We gladly offer deferred billing to libraries or other institutions.


We ship books through the U.S. Postal Service. If you would like us to use another carrier, please let us know. Within the U.S. we offer shipping by USPS Media Mail for $7 for the first book and $3 for each additional book. USPS Priority Mail is $15 for the first book and $4 for each additional item. Shipping costs are based on books weighing 2.2 pounds, or 1 kilo. If your book order is heavy or oversized, we may contact you to let you know extra shipping is required.


Orders from outside the U.S. will be billed at cost, but will likely be at least $30 and possibly more, depending on the location.


Important note to buyers outside the U.S.: Any customs duties, taxes, or fees are the responsibility of the buyer. On customs forms, we declare the full value of the shipment.
