Unique 1939 circus archive from Parker and Watts from someone within the circus or near to Parker or Watts. Composed of approx. one hundred and seventy five (175) pieces including intimate vernacular snapshots of lions, elephants, monkeys, clowns, all with notes of location and date and often names. Highlights include five (5) snapshots and a handwritten card from Colonel Fleming, dubbed Kit Carson Jr., ; signed Tom Mix cowboy photo; snapshots of the clown Jimmie Thomas; Andy Calino the chimp; color illustrated letterhead, promotional items and notably Western Unions from Ira Watts and/or Parker, along with a letter from Ira detailing a ‘blowdown’ which took out many tents. 95+ identified snapshots accompanied by 75+ pieces print ephemera.
