Radiguet, who achieved early fame and died at twenty of typhoid fever, left only two novels. This one appears here with a preface by Jean Cocteau — “the only honour that I claim is to have given to Raymond Radiguet in his life the illustrious place won for him by his death” — who discovered his talent and was also his lover.
First American edition (1953; originally published in France in 1924), with the $3.00 price printed at the bottom of the front jacket flap.
