This project is the fourth collaboration between Mixolydian Editions and Nawakum Press. The first section is titled “A Bonsai-Shaped Mind” and includes five short essays on bonsai from Marc Peter Keane. Keane describes bonsai as a living art which fosters connections between the artist and the natural world. The second section, “Postures of the Heart,” consists of a short story in nine parts, which follows a bonsai tree over five hundred years. Richard Wagener’s engravings appear throughout, inspired by bonsai he observed during his time at the Pacific Bonsai Museum in Washington state.
