Framingham, MA, Dennison Manufacturing, [ca. 1935]
first, Very good
Unrecorded so presumably first edition. Quarto (11 1/2 X 9 1/2 inches). Mimeographed on rectos only (although the bank versos are paginated). Five lessons (some with more than one part). 21; 17, [8, patterns]; 13; 17; 5; 13, [4, patterns]; 11; 15, [4, patterns]; 11; 29; 4 pp. plus 10 printed inserts, all with color illustrations and one of them bearing 42 color samples of Dennison manufactured crepe paper. Laid in at the rear is a stapled 10-leaf (mimeographed on rectos only) piece entitled “Dennison’s Spring Display Suggestions” and an original 8 x 10 photograph, canvas-backed, of a professional window display done by the Abbott Window Display Service using Dennison’s Crepe Paper. Original 3-brad blue folder. Very good with no discernible issues other than getting a little long in the tooth.
This was likely given to stores who purchased Dennison products. It is a how-to for window dressers with in depth instructions, diagrams and suggestions. Dennisons was founded in 1844 and was Framingham’s largest employer for nearly a century. It eventually merged with Avery.
