Hand painted cover functions almost as a trade sign.
William Butchie Elias George (Crazy George) was an artist trained in MANY disciplines, creating everything from oil paintings to metal sculptures w/ occasional public commissions. He was also an actor, playing Butchie the Biker in George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead (1978) and again in Tom Savini’s 1990 remake.
George was most famous for his old school body painting (BRUSH not airbrush) in the Sturgis & Buffalo Chip camps for decades. This appears to be his own keepsake book documenting that work.
3-ring binder measures 12” square x 3” thick, approximately 100 pages. Includes 250 original snapshots beginning in 1976 and includes his newspaper / magazine press clippings. Women's faces have been blurred in my own photographs for privacy.
