Sixth edition (Bigmore & Wyman I,3). Some minor wear to spine ends, boards lightly rubbed, ownership inscription in ink on the front free endpaper, else a near fine copy.
The first edition was issued in 1837. This was the second practical printing manual issued by an American author; it was compiled from many of the facts given by Hansard and Johnson. This edition contains work on Gold, Bronze, Card and Xylographic printing and the printing of wood engravings. Illustrated. It also contains a four page section at the end showing L. Johnson type faces and other material which isn't in the earlier editions.
