Item Details

Chicago: [The Twilight Publishers], 1915. First edition. 8vo, [4], vii, [7], 15-125pp. Illustrations, diagrams. Publisher's navy cloth stamped in gilt and blind. Light wear at spine ends and corners, blank labels to endpapers and stamp from Nelson Self Help Books in Chicago else clean and nearly fine.

Very interesting piece of eccentric midwestern esoterica presented as a series of dialogues between a father and son.  The text attempts to explain the mysteries of life, time, and consciousness through mathematics and the "properties of ether."  Copiously illustrated with dense and confusing diagrams, the book offers elaborate theories on the subconscious, hypnotism, ghosts and psychic phenomena, and other such topics.

We find the publisher listed on a label in the front of the (digitized) LOC copy: "The Twilight Publishers. 666 N State Street, Chicago, Ill," and Bonnar signs his preface as "TWILIGHT."  OCLC cites 4 additional holdings.
