Working printed directory of Oregon Post Offices arranged alphabetically, printed prior to 1908. This directory lists 33 counties; there are 36 today. Hood River County was added in 1908, Jefferson in 1914 and Deschutes in 1916, none of which are in this directory. A page is devoted to each county and includes active post offices, the county seat in bold, plus manuscript additions/changes. Most of the manuscript notations are for new post offices or changed names, but there is at least one DPO's noted, (Dead Post Offices) Shirk in Harney County which closed in 1902.
The booklet also has several tipped in leaves including a new typed list for Wallowa County plus a list of 42 typed place names with associated county names. Inside the back wrapper is a typed in cypher sheet with two codes for each post office.
While not pristine, this working document was utilized for many years and is a philatelic treasure. Please see scans.
