Juvenile chapbook probably from the mid 19th century. A somewhat violent re-telling of Jack and Jill complete with several beatings from Old Dame Gill. 16 woodcuts.
There are numerous 19th century examples of the Jack and Jill nursery rhyme in a similar small chapbook format. In scrolling through OCLC, we do not find this exact issue. No printer or publisher listed. 13 titles listed on back wrapper. Perhaps an unrecorded variant.
