Item Details

Rosemary Inn Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park, Rose E. Littleton, Port Angeles, Washington. N.D., 6.5 x 3.5 inches. Circa 1940

Tri-fold pamphlet with pictorial cover and additional black and white photos. Light wear. Travel agency stamp on back panel. Very good condition.

Construction began in 1914 on the Rosemary Inn, located on Barnes Point, on the south side of Lake Crescent. The name was derived by a combination of the two proprietors, Rose Littleton and Mary Daum. President Roosevelt visited the Inn in 1937 and the formal dedication of Olympic National Park in 1938 occurred on the front lawn of the Inn. Today the building is an environmental science school.
