Typed manuscript with holograph corrections of the three act play Undine by Jean Giraudoux and adapted by Schuyler Watts, 1941. Watts translated Giraudoux's play. This is a working carbon and has numerous original handwritten corrections and changes, in blue, red and pencil, especially in the third act, 83 pages. In brad binder. First page is chipped on fore edge. Fore edges generally toned throughout. Hundreds of changes and corrections. Very Good condition.
Autograph manuscript signed by Schuyler Watts, a narrative adaptation of Undine, with Watts' brief autobiographical notes, 36 pages, n.d. (1941). Light toning to edges. Very Good condition.
With typed manuscript of the play Undine including logistics of the lesser characters and music notes for Act III. N.D. Manuscript title page boldly written in blue felt pen. Fine condition.
The play was ultimately produced in 1954 with the title of Ondine. It's original run at the 46th Street Theater ran from February 18 to July 3rd, 1954, for a total of 157 performances. The play won 4 Tony Awards including Audrey Hepburn as best actress, plus Best Scenic Design, Best Costume and Director.
