‘L’Espace du Dedans’ is an anthology first published in 1944 and in 1966 in a revised and expanded form. The anthology contains a selection of texts taken from Who I Was, Ecuador, My Properties, A Certain Feather, The Night Stirs, Journey to the Great Garabagne, Distant Interior, Paintings, In the Land of Magic, Trials, Exorcisms, Life in the Folds, Passages, Reading, Facing the Locks, Miserable Miracle, Peace in the Breaking.

Henri Michaux explored ideas beyond the visible world, or what he called ‘l'espace du dedans’ (inner space), in a variety of ways, including through a later series of ink drawings made while under the influence of the hallucinogen mescaline.
