Présence Panchounette was a French artist collective (Christian Baillet, Pierre Cocrelle, Didier Dumay, Michel Ferrière, Jean-Yves Gros, Frédéric Roux and Jacques Soulillou) active from 1969 to 1990. ‘Présence Panchounette is a group of artists created in 1968, self-dissolved in 1990, of post-situationist inspiration, but we must insist on an equally notable influence, that of Belgian surrealism. That of Marcel Marien for his production of objects and of Louis Scutenaire for his sense of aphorism. Their abundant production is made from everyday objects assembled in a poetic and critical way.’
