1st US appearance (Smith AMERICAN 12, Note 2). 35 issues, each 16 pp. Each issue protected by an archival manila paper folder. Illustrated with 31 chapter vignettes & 33 illustrations, all by John McLenan. Folio. 15-7/8" x 11-1/4". Issues now housed in a blue cloth custom clamshell case, with leather title label to spine. Issues with stab holes along spines, indicating they were probably gathered together from bound volumes, otherwise in overall quite nice condition. Clamshell case with some wear, and a few of the cloth joints are just starting to fray & split.
A very rare edition of this Dickens classic, which is probably impossible in this day & age to duplicate / compile.
