The book is in very good condition. The binding is tight and there are no rips, tears, or loose pages. There is are no signatures, bookplates, or markings of any kind. There is some darkening to the outside boards. The gilt illustration on the cover is bright and unrubbed. This book contains all 24 of Rackham's original tipped-in plates. All plates have intact tissue guards which have the illustration's titles printed on them and are mounted on heavy colored paper. The pages are clean and free of any foxing. This is #41 of only 50 copies in the limited American edition, signed by Arthur Rackham. This book comes with a custom made, felt lined slipcase. The original silk ties are detached, but present. These early Rackham's are often split up and sold separately for their beautiful prints. A rare find in this condition.
