A lithograph (frontispiece) is a reproduction of Pierre Bonnard. "This issue of Verve brings together previously unpublished works by Pierre Bonnard executed over the past fifteen years. The artist designed the cover, the frontispiece (the Sun), and all the ornaments during the autumn of 1946. The work was completed in August 1947 on Draeger Frères paper. The frontispiece was executed in lithography by Mourlot frères, and the color prints by Mansat and Neuens based on photographs by Laniepce.
