Eleven large very full scrapbooks compiled by George Russell Brown, containing hundreds of original broadsides, programs, playbills, tickets, and related ephemera documenting operas and theatrical productions at venues primarily in Boston and New York. They range from the 1880s to the 1930s. There are early programs for Edwin Booth.  Represented theaters include the Plymouth Theatre, Boston Opera House, Tremont Theatre, Colonial Theatre, Oakland Garden, Park Theatre, Globe Theatre, Boston Music Hall, Theatre Apollo, Gaiety Theatre, Majestic Theatre, and others.
