1962 Dulles Airport Construction & Dedication Archive Once owned by a Betty Mathews who was a FAA staff member and appears to have played a key role in the November 17 – 18 Dedication of Dulles Airport. The collection includes 85 8 X 10 original photographs including many photographs showing the construction of the airport along with many photos dated November 17, 1962 at the official dedication. Tedication was attended by both President Eisenhower and JFK and there are several photos of them at the event. Other photos show the newly constructed airport right before it opens.  Apart from the photographs there are ribbons, programs and badges from the dedication day that were worn by Mathews.  The collection also includes letters, reports and a large map of the plan for the airport dated 1961.
