First edition, published Christmas Eve 1960, of "Stranger among friends" by Armenian nurse Asdghig Avakian. Inscribed Dec. 29, 1960, by the author to physician and educator Calvin Plimpton (1918-2007), then president of American University of Beirut. Direct from Plimpton's estate, found in his private library at his seaside Cape Cod mansion. @ 200 pages. Inside in fine condition; paperback cover shows some age (please see photos).
