Geo. F. Crofutt, 1871
Very Good
9.5" x 13" map of Salt Lake City dated 1871, but issued for inclusion in the 1873 edition of Crofutt's Trans-Continental Tourists Guide. A very good example, closely trimmed at left margin and with folding creases. Advertising printed on verso. Bordered by the Jordan River in the West, the Wasatch mountains in the North, and the U,S. Military Reservation and Camp Douglas in the East, the map shows the locations President Brigham Young's residence and office, Mayor Wells' residence, the Temple Block, the court house and city hall, four newspapers, and various schools, churches, and hotels.
