One oblong 8vo. albumen boudoir sized photo 7 x 4.25, mounted on pale blue-green studio board, 8 x 5 in., with rubber-stamped photographer’s imprint at lower fore-edge (some minor soiling, thumbing to fore-edges, slight over-exposure, glue mount residue on verso), still a VG image. 

A very scarce early image of two loggers hauling out Douglas Fir logs by mule team from near Chico, Kitsap County, Washington State near Silverdale and Tracyton. Loggers supplied Douglas Fir, Hemlock, Alder, and Cedar to the massive sawmills at Port Gamble and Port Blakely on the Olympic Peninsula. This appears to have been shot around 1890, after Washington Territory gained statehood in 1889, and after Chico was first named for a Suquamish Indian Head Chief, along with Chico Creek in 1889 as well. This cataloguer could find no references to the “Olympic View Co.” photographers.
