Civil War – Provost Marshal’s Office, 10 District May 9, 1864 .8 x 10 ¼, part imprinted draft notice sent to Isaac Williams, of Yonkers, by the Provost Marshal’s Office. After the initial patriotic fervor ran its course, the number of volunteers fell off. In response, conscription in the North started in 1863.
Original fold lines, some light use and wear, overall Fine condition.
