Boston, Alfred Mudge and Son, 1865, Booklet
Good
Original Statement and Reports concerning the Uncle Sam Senior and Gold Canon Silver Lodes in Nevada. Published by Alfred Mudge and Son, Boston. 1865. Salmon stapled wraps. The statement and report was to call attention to the sale of the Uncle Sam Senior and the Gold Canon mines located within the limits of Gold Hill, Nevada. The report states that these parts of the Comstock Lodes have been pronounced by the most scientific engineers and chemists in the country to be the most valuable ever discovered. The two lodes lay parallel to each other at a distance of one to two hundred feet which greatly adds to the value of the property and facilitating easy and successful development. The report contains affirmations and statements from various persons to the value of the two mines. The map is a very detailed depiction of the Gold Hill Front Lodes, done on a scale of 375 feet to the inch. It gives the location of the mines, proposed shafts, quartz mills, hoisting works, the Pioneer Foundry, the Wells Fargo office, and much more. The covers are separated cleanly at the spine and the map is laid in. One internal page has mild damage along the bottom of the page. Else good. The map has a few very light spots of foxing. No tears along the folds. Very scarce Nevada item still in relatively good condition.
