US Navy sailors archive from his WWII service. The owner of the archive was Lt Commander medical Corps U S Navy Reserve William Wellington Stevenson. The first items are his Lt Commander shoulder boards (2) Medical Corps MC Striker Distinguishing Mark patches (4) and his Asiatic Pacific Campaign Ribbon with Silver Star. Also a photo of him. He was with the 12th Naval District. The remainder are photographs, clippings and documents. 1) Appointment in Naval Reserve 7/23/1942. 2) His appointment to Surgeon w/rank Lt Commander (Signed by Sec Navy Frank Knox). 3) Passed 3rd Gas Specialist course (1943). Subpoena for calling in sick to avoid work on USS President Polk (From Davy Jones). Numerous (8) b/w photos of Pacific Island natives and newspaper clippings about the war. Humorous Malaria & Epidemic Disease Control Poster (12/1944). More south pacific snapshot photographs (six) including some from a show). Christmas dinner menu (12/1944). Seven more b/w photos and two drawings. 4) Release from active duty (1/30/1946 signed by Vice Admiral Ross McIntire). 5) Notice of separation (2/6/1946). 6) Certificate of Satisfactory Service (2/6/1946 Signed by Sec Navy James Forrestal) 7) Notice of intent to Separate (12/4/1945). 8) Appointment to Nave Reserve (6/22/1949 Signed by Sec Navy Francis P Matthews). There are a few additional documents and letters. All items in good condition except for one letter. Sold as a lot only.
