1940 + 1964 two versions of General Motors Futurama exhibit at two New York World’s Fairs. In 1940, 24 page booklet 8.25”x7” with photogravures of the attraction in an art deco building and much hype about the world of tomorrow being “an infinitely better place in which to live” (and to drive a Chevolet, Pontiac, Oldsobile, Buick, La Salee, or Cadillac on futuristic roads). In 1964, the pavilion resembled a rocket and featured a 15 minute ride in individual lounge chairs to experience a world of tomorrow (5,500 people an hour; the ride built in Detroit and shipped to New York in 1,500 crates).
