1906 postcard of the ruins of the Examiner Building after the San Francisco fire, published by Richard Behrendt, and overprinted for the Automatic Telephone company in Denver CO asking that residents of the city vote for their receiving the telephone franchise. They promise to spend 4 million dollars and to not pressure residents to buy their phones unless they are both better and cheaper. The company was in 1906 purchased by the Colorado Telephone Co., part of the Bell system. Mailed within Denver.
