Splendid large signed photograph entitled "Lehrgerüste der Eisenbahnbrücke bei Solis." Undated, ca. 1901. Mounted on card with printed legend and additional technical information and signed by the photographer, A. Reinhardt - Chur. Image size ca. 29 X 24 cm. Top corners of mount clipped, possibly as issued, very good condition. Back of mount has some large black ink splotches that do not affect the front surface. The photograph shows three men standing on the bed of a preliminary wooden arch bridge spanning the gorge. Anton Reinhardt was appointed as the official photographer of the construction of the Albula rail line in 1901; the line opened in 1904. The completed stone arch bridge, based on a novel parabolic design, is known today as the Solis Viaduct.
