Offset lithograph printed on newsprint, folded as issued, unfolds to ca. 89 X 102 cm. Fine condition, given the low-quality paper. The map was created by Fahlström, a member pf the Fluxus group, as a laid-in bonus to the May, 1972 issue of the Liberated Guardian. The Liberated Guardian was a monthly newspaper with revolutionary politics that formed as a breakaway from an Old Left stalwart, the National Guardian. According to the Tate Modern (London), which has a copy of the map, 7300 copies were printed, of which 300 have survived. We do not know how these numbers were arrived at, but in any case 300 seems extremely high for such an ephemeral piece, which was not even part of the newspaper per se.
