Very good
Woodblock broadside for a Washington, DC bookshop opened in 1919 by two suffragists, Sally Burch and Maude Odell. The genesis and opening of the shop was the subject of a joint account by the two women proprietors that appeared in the Publisher's Weekly shorlty after its opening (1919, vol. 95, pt. 2, p. 1540). They reported that their shop had already in a short time become a literary and artistic center. The style and sensibility of the woodblock matches the goods they were carrying in their shop. It is likely that their Washington domicile was connected to their political activities. Sally Burch was active in the National Women's Party. As for Maude Odell, she is presumably the same Maude Odell who became in 1923 the first woman to drive a taxicab in New York City!
