1946. -- STUDENT SCHOOL PROJECT in a REPURPOSED CHECKBOOK-REGISTER -- magazine cut-out pictures of cars glued into a used, out-of-date 1931 commercial checkbook-register from the American National Bank & Trust Company of Mt. Vernon, NY -- repurposed in 1946 by Fred Carl for his high school project in the Bronx, NY.

Fred Carl's scrapbook reflects his great affection for cars-- Fred glued down 150 (+/-) neatly cut magazine pics of cars, trucks, buses & campers on (72) pages of a repurposed, out-of-date check register. Fred made one page of pencil drawings of cars, and handwrote a list of automobile & truck names-- he ends his scrapbook with pages of collages of auto pics... exuberantly gathered.

1946 Student Project in Repurposed Checkbook-Register-- 8.5"x7", red cloth-covered boards. Covers have some wear and creases. A few pages are detached.
