c1927. -- TRADITIONAL JAPANESE ACCORDIAN-STYLE SKETCH BOOK -- original art with Japanese chop marks, 7.25" x 11", the sketchbook's continuous pages unfold accordian-style, with (18) double-paged spread and (26) leaves. In very nice condition-- silk-covered boards, top edge gilt.

This is truly a beautiful sketchbook of original Japanese ink paintings, calligraphy and watercolors... people, flora & fauna, birds, flowers, butterflies, rivers & mountain scenes. One ink-painting of a man is so visually compelling one wonders who the sitter might be... a self-portrait of the artist?
